Ingredients

Everything the app keeps, and where it keeps it.

Method

  1. Know who is cooking

That company is the controller of any personal data described here, under Law No. 195/2024 on the protection of personal data, which replaced Law No. 133/2011 in August 2026.   2. Keep everything on the device

    The list above lives in the app's private storage on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to, and we cannot read it. If Android's own backup is switched on, Google may include this data in the backup held under your Google account, on Google's terms rather than ours.

  3. Ask for nothing

    The app requests no runtime permissions and opens no network connections. Photographs and recipe text ship inside the app, which is why it works with the phone in flight mode and in a cellar with no signal.

  4. Count Google Play in

    The download runs through Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. Where a device shares usage and diagnostics with Google, aggregated crash and performance reports may appear to us in the Play Console; nobody is identifiable in them and we read them only to fix faults.

  5. Let children use it

    Nothing is collected from anyone of any age, there is no chat, no link out and nothing to buy. The stove is the part that needs an adult, not the app.

  6. Answer the post

    If you email us, we receive your address and your message and use them to reply and to correct the book. Correspondence is deleted within twelve months of our last reply unless the law requires us to keep it.

  7. Honour your rights

    You may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing or ask that it be restricted; in practice an email exchange is the only thing we could hold. We answer within thirty days. If that does not settle it, the National Centre for Personal Data Protection supervises us: datepersonale.md, Chișinău. If you are in the European Union, you may instead approach the authority where you live.

  8. Clear the plates

    Open the app's entry in Android settings, go to storage and clear the data: stars, cooked marks, list and settings go together, and uninstalling does the same. Nothing is kept anywhere else, so nothing can be restored afterwards.

  9. Reprint when the recipe changes

    This page is rewritten, with a new date under the title, before any release that changes how the app handles data.

Notes from the kitchen

Cooking carries its own risks, and an app cannot supervise them. Bucate gives traditional recipes; it is not food-safety guidance and not dietary or medical advice. Cook poultry, pork and eggs through, cool and refrigerate leftovers promptly, keep the fridge at 5 °C or below, and follow a tested, properly sterilised method for any preserve you seal and store, because home bottling done casually is genuinely dangerous. Wheat, eggs, dairy and nuts run through this cuisine, so read every ingredient list yourself if anyone at the table has an allergy. Keep children clear of hot fat and of boiling mămăligă, which sticks to skin. In an emergency in Moldova, call 112.

The recipes and the introductions are our own work. If a dish is written the wrong way round for your family's version, we would rather hear it than not: regional variations are the point of a national table.
